Mr. Fallon goes to Washington!

October 24, 2011

That’s Right!  American Brewing Company is 1 of 15 breweries recently selected to serve our beer in the halls of Congress!

On Wednesday, November 2nd, Neil will be in Washington DC for the Tenth Annual “Autumn Capitol Hill Beer Tasting” event.  Organized by the Brewers Association, in cooperation with the National Beer Wholesalers Association, they are expecting a capacity crowd of over 500 members of Congress and staffers to attend.  The emphasis will continue to be on educational aspects of the beer served – malt and hop varieties,  IBU’s (international bitterness units), food pairing options, brewing processes employed, etc.  An incredible honor to have been selected out of all the breweries across this nation.

And if that isn’t amazing enough, Neil was also approached by the Brewers Association to meet with Congressman Jay Inslee from Washington’s 1st Congressional District to discuss the small brewer excise tax legislation.  According to the Brewers Association, Representative Inslee is not yet a co-sponsor of H.R. 1236 (Small Brew Act), nor is he a member of the House of Small Brewers Caucus. Considering that we are smack in the middle of Congressman Inslee’s district, it would seem to be a fine opportunity for Neil to tell our story which we hope will be a powerful inducement to secure his commitment.

“Since American Brewing Company is doing business within the Congressman’s district, I would personally like to discuss with him the importance of his support on this matter,” states Neil, “I welcome the opportunity to explain that with the explosive growth and added jobs that we are providing, the reduction in excise tax would allow us to do more…faster.  Pennies count in a start up.”

We have shipped several cases of our bottles of Breakaway IPA and Caboose Oatmeal Stout to our nation’s Capitol. Almost seems cruel to expose them to Skip’s fantastic beer and then not be able to provide it to them on a regular basis, doesn’t it?

Anyway…Washington (D.C., that is), watch out, here comes Mr. Fallon!

Cheers!
